Symposium of the research project MONOCAB OWL in Lemgo.
Participation is free of charge.
Please register bindingly until April 06.
Something is happening in public transport in the countryside: Europe is in Extertal! The EU has the goal of creating equal living conditions in rural and urban areas. This ranges from educational opportunities and the establishment of businesses to comparably flexible mobility. The good news: In Extertal, this can even be seen live today - the MONOCAB project. Here, autonomous, individual cabins travel parallel to each other on the two rails on one track in both directions - on demand, 365 days a year. And this in conjunction with existing mobility services for seamless coverage.
The prerequisites are there, as are innovative ideas and technologies - but above all the will: Let's dare to think ahead! To ensure that the democratization of mobility in rural areas takes everyone with it, you are cordially invited to join us in thinking ahead, getting to know the technology first-hand and looking ahead with motivation.
The day includes three sessions: "Challenges - Approaches - Future Tasks", these are under the umbrella term "Outlook - New Concepts in Public Transport". We will discuss different ideas and approaches in an interdisciplinary exchange.
Under the title "Challenges", the first session will present framework conditions and various mobility concepts for public transport.
The second session deals with "approaches to solutions". MONOCAB OWL uses disused railroad tracks and aims to combine the advantages of individual and public transport by means of IPNV (Individual Passenger Transport). New fuels reduce CO2 emissions in the transport sector and the hybrid vehicle project links road with rail.
The "Future Tasks" in Session 3 deal specifically with various basic technologies that are needed to be able to implement the various solution approaches. Without fast data communication, conception and new operating concepts, implementation will not succeed.
On the second day we will meet in Extertal at the "Testfield 01" of the MONOCAB. Under the motto "As good as your own car", the REGIONALE2022 project MONOCAB OWL will be presented live and the MONOCAB technology will be explained vividly. Furthermore, you can experience how the test vehicles "Hermann" and "Thusnelda" drive on the test track.
